Ariadne Sense features

Every feature came from a situation where something was missing. Below: what the app does, and when it actually helps.

The full set of capabilities

Selected features have their own detailed pages. Tap to learn more.

Describes surroundings

The voice assistant continuously describes what's in front of you: objects, people, the path.

Reads text aloud

Reads a letter, label, medication leaflet or menu. Recognition runs on your device.

Warns about obstacles

Voice and vibration warn you about obstacles: curbs, steps, posts. The closer you are, the stronger the vibration.

Automatic mode

The app comments on your surroundings on its own when the scene changes.

Helps find things

Say what you're looking for and the app guides you to it.

Recognizes people

Describes people nearby, what they're doing and even their emotions.

Zooms in

Read a bus number or a street name from a distance.

Works after dark

In low light the app lights up the scene automatically.

Compass and time

Ask for a compass direction or the current time.

Fully accessible

VoiceOver, large buttons, haptics and audio cues.

This is what Ariadne sounds like

This is what the app's prompts sound like while moving:

  • Car on the left, nearby.
  • Step down on the right, very close.
  • Path straight ahead.
  • Door on the left, within reach.

Always the same structure: what, which side, how far.
